Busco Flow is now the central hub for our master data capture. With it, article master data can be recorded faster, more efficiently, and more easily. Our throughput times and time-to-market have already significantly reduced!

Data Management
Challenge
Every year, we add between 1,200 and 3,000 new items to our product range. This includes both in-house developed products and articles from third-party suppliers. To make these items available in the shop and warehouse, each item must undergo a RampUp process. This involves various steps, such as capturing the EAN number to defining the packaging, size, and weight of the item, so it can be incorporated into the product catalog and into the order and fulfillment system (Navision), and be ready for warehouse ordering, picking, and delivery.
Before the introduction of "Busco Flow," this process was handled manually, and the required fields and images for importing into Navision were maintained in Excel sheets.
Information is provided by various people, departments, and external suppliers.
Solution
With the application "Busco Flow," the capture, recording, and management of items (approximately 1,300 per year) in the master data of the ERP system Navision and in warehouse logistics is enabled in a transparent, traceable, simple, and accelerated manner.
Key points of importance in the solution are particularly noted and addressed:
- The initial solution enables the capture of new articles for the master inventory.
- A bulk import of several similar items, such as from the same supplier, is possible. These items can be edited in a table view.
- In a further phase, existing items should be able to be modified through the Busco Flow tool (for example, prices of existing items).
- All transactions and modifications are logged and can be seamlessly traced in the database.
- Data capture should be done once to avoid multiple entries.
- To ensure seamless data capture and modification, an interface to the ERP system Navision is required.
To overcome the mentioned drawbacks, the new software solution was developed, with particular emphasis on ease of use and adherence to the latest web standards.
Benefits, Advantages
With "Busco Flow," we benefit from the following advantages:
- Avoidance of inconsistent data
- Transparent product responsibilities
- Clear overview and status updates on current item modifications
- Rapid capture of master item data, leading to faster availability in the ERP system
- Ability to segment when creating master item data
- Delegation of sub-processes to internal and external parties through role control
- Bulk modifications simplify daily operations and save time
- An efficient, user-friendly, and intuitive interface for users
- A dashboard as the initial basis for an overview of the process for management
Thanks to the empathetic and transparent collaboration with all project participants, personnel and capacity-related challenges were successfully overcome.
